Leverage Big Data in Analyzing CRE Investments
What Data are Available? How can I Start? Where to Get Them?
CRE investment analysis is becoming increasingly data driven. When researching on an individual property, analysts will usually collect sales comps, lease comps and cap rates for assumption inputs. When analyzing a market, analyst will often gather pricing trends, fundamentals, and competitive intelligence.
Yiqun Wang, senior manager at Real Capital Analytics (RCA), hosted an event on big data in commercial real estate world. He covered what information is available (RCA and outside of RCA) and various ways to put information into analyses.
The meeting was also broadcasted through GoToMeeting.
Last but not least, a quick update on where ACRES stands at year end 2014. Within a little more than a year after being founded, ACRES has gathered about 150 members and successfully hosted 14 events. We work hard to grow in order to serve an increasing number of bilingual real estate professionals who have interests and resources in both the US and China. To get a sense of our achievement, you can find a list of firms and graduate school programs ACRES members currently represent from our site.
